Reshaping Live Performance
The Timetosser is a hybrid between an effects unit and an electronic instrument. It analyses incoming audio and allows for a beat-synchronised decomposition and re-arrangement of the input signals. Everything happens intuitively and in real time so that the Timetosser can be played like an instrument. DJ mixes, drum machines, modular synthesizers, electric guitars and vocals get that certain something with the Timetosser slicing effects. Whether as a live tool in the club or as a remix tool in the studio, the Timetosser opens up new unique possibilities and brings a breath of fresh air to your performance.
How does the Timetosser work?
Stand Alone: With the Tap button, the Timetosser can be synchronised to the music. The 1/4-, 1/8- and 1/16-note keys and their triplets determine the division ratios for the incoming audio material.
MIDI IN: The Timetosser can be synchronised to an incoming midi clock. The corresponding DIN5 to mini jack adapter cable is included.
Analogue Gate: By connecting a mono jack cable to the Sync input, the Timetosser can be synchronised to an analogue clock - e.g. from a modular synthesiser.
MIDI OUT: The MIDI OUT output can be used to synchronise external MIDI devices.
VST Plugin: The Timetosser can also be integrated as a VST plugin into any DAW. The plugin for MacOS and Windows can be downloaded free of charge from the manufacturer's website.
The keys in the upper row define which slice should be triggered from the bar. By playing patterns with the upper keys, single notes can be repeated or the order of the music can be changed completely.
