The adaptive 3-way main monitor 8380A SAM™ is the second model in The Main Ones series after our flagship model 8381A. Designed for medium-sized studios and listening rooms, it brings out every detail of the audio signal with impressive precision.
The 8380A takes main monitoring – like the 8381A – to a new level. With its unique combination of coaxial technology, careful acoustic design and intelligent room adaptation, it offers uncompromising accuracy across the entire audible spectrum.

Experience the detailed texture of your sound in high resolution – and flexibly decide on your listening position. The design offers a wide, balanced sweet spot and delivers a truly physical, immersive sound experience thanks to the large 15-inch woofer, cleanly calibrated and time-accurate.
Mix with absolute confidence and benefit from flawless, stable imaging, phase coherence and exceptional dynamics – all without listener fatigue. Whether mounted vertically or horizontally, you get consistent, unaltered clarity and always make the right decisions – already at the recommended minimum listening distance of 1.3 meters (4.25 ft). And since there is no self-noise at the listening position, you hear every nuance of the audio signal unaltered.

Our entire Smart Active Monitoring (SAM™) range offers excellent directivity and phase matching and is compatible with the comprehensive UNIO ecosystem. This allows you to flexibly assemble and expand your monitor system to suit any professional audio application, from stereo to immersive, with the benefits of intelligent room adaptation and flexible personalization.
The dimensions of the 8380A and its updated, fanless RAM-L2 amplifier are identical to those of our 1038A, 1038B and 1238A monitors as well as the old RAM-L amplifier, making direct upgrades easier, even in wall-mount applications where the amplifier is mounted separately.
Like all Genelec monitors, the 8380A is manufactured to the highest sustainability standards at our factory in Iisalmi, Finland – with a lifespan of several decades and the possibility to repair it at any time if needed.
