Premium Compact Analogue Recording Console
The new Audient ASP4816 Heritage Edition console, introduced at this year’s NAMM Show, is now available. It presents itself in a brand-new look and more features – inspired by its larger counterpart, Audient’s flagship, the ASP8024-HE console. Completely redesigned from the ground up by David Dearden and equipped with his legendary analog circuitry, the ASP4816-HE is the perfect centerpiece for project and production studios. The new features include the Vintage Mix Bus circuitry, John Hardy operational amplifiers on the mix bus output, powerful new enhancements to the mix bus compressor – and much more.
Equipped with a true Transformer Drive as well as a Low Bump and High Lift EQ – inspired by the classic mastering equalizers of the past – the ASP 4816-HE enables a wider and more spacious sound in the stereo sum. Another improvement – known from the ASP8024-HE console – is the Bass Expand function of the bus compressor. This brand-new high-pass filter in the compressor’s sidechain tightens mixes and gives them punch without cutting the bass.
Another strong update is the new summing amplifiers for the mix bus, namely the discrete 990 op-amps from the renowned US manufacturer John Hardy. They offer more dynamics, a better sweet spot and punch, and give the mix bus more clarity and a bit more character. Further improvements of the ASP4816-HE include a monitor-quality headphone amplifier; footswitch connection for remote, hands-free talkback; a revised master volume fader; and a VU meter to monitor the compressor’s peak reduction.
