The inputs and outputs are each symmetrically designed as XLR and stereo jack sockets. The level ratios can be switched between -10dBV and +4dBu. A side-chain insert allows the insertion of EQ and filters in the VCA control loop. This achieves frequency-selective compression. </p>

Two LEDs indicate the state below or above the set threshold. The compressor parameters are threshold, attack, release, and gain. The times can also be set program-dependently in auto mode. The compressor threshold works optionally as hard-knee or with the DBX patented Over-Easy circuit. The threshold is displayed by three LEDs, the gain reduction with 8 LEDs. Both channels can be linked for stereo signals, operation is then done with the controls of the left channel. The linking is realized by true-RMS power summing, which guarantees reliable yet musical intervention in the signal.</p>
