But since innovation is part of our DNA at Drum Workshop, we thought it was time to incorporate some key improvements into the most successful pedals. Above all, we improved the toe clamp. We wanted our 5000 series pedals to have more grip to create a stronger connection between drummer and kick drum. So we developed the Tri-Pivot Toe Clamp. The Tri-Pivot features three independent, 360-degree rotating rubber pads that firmly grip almost any diameter and thickness of the bass drum hoop, both from above and below, without slipping. Combined with a new, textured rubber pad on the base plate, you will agree with us... there has never been a better system for attaching a pedal to a bass drum. To enhance the premium smoothness and feel of the 5000 pedals, we added a Dual Bearing Spring Rocker, which makes the 5000 pedal faster and more responsive than ever before. And finally, we added the Accelerator double-chain drive system with an eccentric motion that creates an indirect relationship between the sprocket and the footboard, shortening the stroke length and increasing speed and sensitivity. The legendary 5000 series bass drum pedals come equipped with a variety of improvements and upgrades but still feature aluminum hex shafts, pedal plates and linkages, our patented Delta Ball-Bearing Hinge, and the versatile Two-Way Beater.
