A new SG for modern times
The newly refreshed Gibson SG Modern contains many contemporary updates that have been embraced by players, and it is much more than a classic "solid guitar"; it is a blend of an SG™ and a Les Paul™. The body is shaped and contoured like a classic SG and consists of an AA maple top and a mahogany back, which is characteristic of a Les Paul. This combination is known for its resonance and sustain. The real ebony fretboard with 24-fret radius and the asymmetrical SlimTaper™ neck allow for fast and silky access to the highest frets. A pair of calibrated Burstbucker™ Pro Alnico 5 humbuckers delivers fire, and the push-pull controls allow you to switch between the Gibson humbucker and the single coil P-90 sound, both of which have defined so many music genres across multiple generations since we invented them. The upscale equipment includes real mother-of-pearl inlays, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, and clear top hat knobs.
