* Complete redesign of the user interface

* Drag & drop improvements

* Supports 32- & 64-bit floating point sound files

Articulation Maps

Articulation maps allow dynamically applying variations to the output of a MIDI track, influenced by remote triggers that affect the playback of the track. For example, an articulation map can be created with separate triggers for legato, staccato, and marcato, which can then be expressively switched during recording or playback of the track. It is possible to import or create your own maps for many common orchestral sound libraries. Articulation symbols appear in the QuickScribe editor, linked to the corresponding articulation maps, where they can be further edited and inserted. Articulations can also be edited in lanes for a track in the graphic and QuickScribe editors.

Audio Retrospective Record

DP11 expands retrospective recording functions with audio. Now DP always listens to both MIDI and audio input sources and records everything, even when not recording. Like magic, any audio or MIDI material recently played can be retrieved. Both MIDI and audio unleash creativity and ensure no creative moments are lost.

Clip Triggering With Novation™ and Akai™ Pad Controllers

Pad controllers like the Novation™ Launchpad™ Pro mk3 or the Akai™ APC-40 allow comprehensive control of DP's extensive Clips window. Trigger individual clips or entire scenes (sections of songs). Apply filter sweeps and other effect edits while working: Digital Performer is now a powerful live performance platform you can take anywhere you can imagine.

Live Performance Mode

Effect processing can now be done live on stage in real-time without having to pre-fix runs. The live performance mode ensures spontaneous interaction of the performance.

Chunk Folders and Playlists

With DP's unique Chunks feature, multiple sequences, songs, and V-Racks can be created and managed in a single DP project file, from cues for film music to setlists for live shows. In DP11, you can now organize your chunks into folders and playlists. Folders are perfect for organizing your chunks, while playlists are perfect as setlists for your next live show.

Chunks List Split View

Split the chunk list into two sections to improve chunk list management. For example, you can search for a chunk in one list section and then drag it into a folder or playlist in the other section. Managing your chunks has never been so clear.

Multi-Channel MIDI Tracks

It is now possible to record and play back multiple channels of MIDI data in a single track. When setting the MIDI track input and output assignments, you can choose "any" instead of a specific channel. Choosing "any" for the input allows all 16 MIDI channels to be recorded simultaneously on the track. The channels are saved along with the MIDI events in the track. When selecting 'any' in the output assignment of the track, the events are played back on the same channel they were recorded on.

Advanced View Filter

Show or hide individual MIDI data with the new "Channel Selection" area in the track selector. The "Event Type Selection" area allows showing or hiding specific event types.

Support for MPE and Per-Note CCs

In DP 11, it is possible to record the multichannel output of an MPE controller—e.g., a Roli™ Seaboard™—as normal MIDI notes with MPE expression data. Instead of many notes and controller data spread across dozens of tracks, a single line of normal MIDI notes appears, each containing its own note-specific controllers for simple and intuitive editing. The included controller and pitch bend events per note can be shown or hidden in the familiar DP piano roll. Zoom into the note grid for finer details. Zoom data per note independently of the notes they contain. Select some notes and simply drag vertically with the new "Scale" tool to increase or decrease expression strength.

Virtual MPE Synths

The following virtual synthesizer instruments included with DP support MPE: Bassline, Modulo, MX4, Nanosampler 2.0, Polysynth, and Proton.

Display for Per-Note Expression

Add separate lanes in the sequence editor to display and edit MPE expression data per note using DP's familiar and powerful continuous controller (CC) editing tools. With a checkbox in each lane, you can easily switch between track data and per-note data. Editing per-note expression data is quickly learned.

New Scale Tool

Scaling expression data per note is quickly done by simply dragging vertically with the new scaling tool.

New Controller Plug-Ins for Native Instruments™ and Icon™

DP 11 includes new control surface plug-ins for the current Native Instruments™ Komplete Kontrol™ lineup, including the M32, A-Series, and S-Series MK2 controller lines, as well as the brand-new iCON Control™ mixing worksurfaces like the QCon™ Pro G2/EX, Pro X/XS, Platform Nano, and Platform M/X series. These state-of-the-art control surfaces support the DP workflow for fast and intuitive operation.

Enhanced Avid™ EuCon™ Support

The DP EuCon plug-in has been significantly improved, including support for the Avid S6™ console. Additionally, the EuCon workspace can now also be used with DP under Windows 10.

Optimized Support for MCU- and HUI-Compatible Controllers

A new plug-in called “MCU Compatible” improves support for third-party control surfaces that are Mackie Control Universal-compatible. Substantial improvements have been made to DP’s Mackie Control Universal (MCU) and HUI control surface plug-ins, which can be used with any control surface that supports those protocols, including improved automation toggling, scrub modes, send mode, loop toggle and much more.

Further Controller Optimizations

For all control surfaces that support these features: V-Racks can now be displayed on all control surfaces. New modes for pinning tracks (pin to mixer, pin to focus window, and all tracks) significantly improve the display of corresponding tracks in DP and on the control surface, so you always see the tracks you need. New track display lights in the sequence editor and mixing board indicate which tracks are currently active on any control surface.

List Font Scaling

You can now change the text size in DP’s list windows independently of the scaling for the rest of the user interface. Set the font size for lists, project notes, and lyrics.

Track and Clip Effects

Every audio track, every MIDI track, and every clip now has a basic transposition setting that allows the content of the track or clip to be transposed by an interval during playback while leaving the original data untouched. The setting can be changed at any time. MIDI tracks and clips also have a quantization setting in addition to transposition.

Intelligent Audio Interface Selection

On macOS, DP finds the best option for audio hardware. If a MOTU or other professional interface is present, DP uses it. Otherwise, DP uses the input and output devices set in the system preferences in the sound panel.

Clips Window Extensions

The new command "Empty Clips Scene" creates a new scene and fills it with new empty clips. The "Duplicate Clip Loop" function doubles the length of the looped section in a clip and repeats the material to fill the new loop.

Text Rendering and Dialog Box Scaling on Windows

By using the latest text rendering engine in Windows 10, text in DP appears significantly sharper. Numerous additional optimizations of text alignment improve the appearance of DP on Windows. DP now also uses the DPI detection setting of Windows 10, allowing DP to adjust the size of system dialogs and menus according to the size and resolution of your computer screen.

Dynamically Adjustable Channel Strips

The size of the faders is dynamically adjusted to the window size.

Support for macOS Big Sur & Apple Silicon Macs

P11 is fully certified for macOS Big Sur (11.x) and the latest generation of Apple Silicon Macs. DP’s audio engine is optimized for multi-core performance on Apple silicon, prioritizing audio threads on high-speed cores and reserving CPU bandwidth for critical, time-sensitive processing.

‘Transpose Exclude’ Option

A new track setting in the track list allows excluding tracks from the "Transpose Region" command. There are also new shortcuts to toggle this function on and off.
