The TLM 170 R was the first microphone with the now so successful fet-100 technology. It offers symmetrical transformerless signal output and highest controllability with extremely low self-noise. Five directional characteristics can be selected with a rotary switch. In the sixth switch position "R", the directional characteristics can be remotely switched using the N 248 power supply, without the need for a special cable. The microphone also has a switchable 10 dB pre-attenuation for very high sound levels and a footswitch filter with a cutoff frequency of 100 Hz.
The condenser microphone TLM 170 R is a switchable large diaphragm microphone, characterized by its transmission properties and various switching options. It is used in a wide variety of applications in broadcasting, film and television, and also in the semi-professional sector. The directional characteristics can be switched both directly on the microphone and remotely from a designated power supply.
Features
- Locally and remotely switchable large diaphragm microphone
- Pressure gradient receiver with double diaphragm capsule
- Five switchable directional characteristics: omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, figure-eight
- Switchable on the microphone and remotely switchable with patented circuit technology
- Switchable 10 dB pre-attenuation and switchable footswitch filter
- Swiveling, elastically mounted holding bracket
Applications
- Universally applicable
- Speaker microphone broadcasting/sync
- Ideal for recording very loud instruments due to extreme controllability
- Support microphone and for recording e.g. wind instruments, especially trumpet, strings, piano, bass drum, guitar amplifier
- Installations where the microphone must be remotely switched, e.g. suspended from the ceiling
