Shotgun microphone with pronounced directional characteristic and additional features for optimized sound recording on the camera.
The MKE 400 is a compact shotgun microphone with pronounced directional characteristic that allows you to optimize the sound for your videos. As with the MKE 200, the MKE 400 also integrates a windscreen and shock mount.
However, it offers further features for precise sound recordings: a 3-stage sensitivity switch ensures that the MKE 400 delivers distortion-free sound in any environment, a switchable low-cut filter focuses your audio on the frequencies crucial for clarity and speech intelligibility. Interchangeable connection options with lockable 3.5 mm jack plugs are compatible with DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras, and mobile devices. A convenient headphone output allows you to monitor the microphone signal.
Features:
Compact shotgun microphone with supercardioid characteristic for targeted and optimized audio on the camera
Integrated windscreen and body sound damping through built-in shock mount
3-stage sensitivity setting and low cut for additional flexibility and control in any recording situation
Headphone output with volume control for audio monitoring
Connection cable with 3.5 mm TRS and TRRS jack plugs for DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras, and mobile devices
Automatically switches on and off when connected to a DSLR or mirrorless camera
Also available as MKE 400 Mobile Kit with the following components: MKE 400 microphone, Sennheiser smartphone holder, and Manfrotto PIXI mini tripod
Sound in focus
The MKE 400 features a supercardioid capsule whose directional effect is enhanced by an interference tube to focus, capture details precisely, and simultaneously dampen unwanted background noise. This microphone with pronounced directional characteristic is ideal for vloggers and videographers. It improves sound quality and brings presence and clarity to your recordings.
Confident recording
All handheld cameras are susceptible to handling noise. Therefore, the MKE 400 integrates windscreen and shock mount. This combination always ensures clean audio recordings with the camera in outdoor use. For maximum damping of wind noise outdoors, simply attach the supplied furry windscreen.
Versatility as a principle
Your video work is probably not limited to one device – and your microphone doesn’t have to be either. Each MKE 400 comes with 3.5 mm TRS and TRRS cables for connecting to DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras, and mobile devices.
Suitable for every situation
Poor acoustic environments are a reality on the go or during location recordings. That’s why the MKE 400 is equipped with a low-cut filter and a 3-stage sensitivity switch. Use the low-cut filter to eliminate body sound or wind noise, and adjust the gain sensitivity to optimize recording levels for any environment.
Before you start
One of the most important tasks in any sound recording is checking the level and monitoring the sound. Some cameras have a headphone jack, but not all – and that’s where the headphone monitor output comes in. You can connect a 3.5 mm headphone jack directly to the MKE 400 and optimally adjust your recordings with the integrated volume control.
