Your FGDP gives you the freedom to assign exactly the sounds you want to each pad. For an ideal start, Yamaha would like to recommend the 3-finger technique. Use your thumb for a powerful kick drum, your middle finger for precise hi-hat playing, and your index finger for sensitive and nuanced snare parts.
From the home position, fundamental rhythms, for example from eighth notes, can be easily played with one hand. Meanwhile, the other hand can contribute gripping backbeats, such as sixteenth notes or double kicks, via the symmetrically arranged pads.
Equipped with a generous number of pads perfectly tuned for finger drumming, the FGDP models enable you to deliver first-class performances that would not be possible with conventional samplers and MIDI pads.
