Yamaha MONTAGE M: Next Generation Synthesizer introduced
Yamaha presents the new MONTAGE M synthesizer. It combines impressive next-generation sound with new control dimensions for dynamic expression and seamless integration into the workflow between stage and studio. The new flagship series consists of the MONTAGE M6 with 61 keys for synthesizer fans, the MONTAGE M7 with 76 keys for keyboardists, and the MONTAGE M8x with 88 keys and polyphonic aftertouch for pianists. The latest technology comes together in these models and elevates expressive power to a new level.
New AN-X Engine for analog sound
The heart of the Yamaha MONTAGE M is the AN-X Engine. With the sound and behavior of analog synthesis, AN-X reproduces the warmth and that special feeling of classic synthesizers. Three oscillators with five waveforms (two sawtooth, triangle, square, and sine) and a noise generator can be shaped by two filters with 10 filter types, ring modulation, wave shaper, and more. For vintage sound, functions for voltage drift and aging allow further sound influences.
Improved AWM2 and FM-X Engines
Apart from the completely new AN-X Engine, Yamaha MONTAGE M also offers an improved AWM2 engine as well as the FM-X engine, allowing up to 400-fold polyphony in total. MONTAGE M was created to enable highly realistic imitative and creative sounds, and the combination of the three powerful engines allows exactly that. For optimal integration into the workflow, the new models offer USB-MIDI as well as an audio interface, Expanded Softsynth Plug-in (ESP), and faster, easier navigation.
Best control for musicians
The new Yamaha MONTAGE M product line delivers innovative control options for unique music making. These include, for example, new performance control and dedicated keyboard and scene control. The MONTAGE M8x additionally offers polyphonic aftertouch for superior expressive possibilities. Other notable features are the 9.97 GB large waveROM memory for presets, 16 libraries (640 performances per library), 3.8 GB flash memory for users, VCM rotary speaker, and more.
