Seventies Rock EZX
An unprecedented collection of drum sounds for authentic production of rock songs in the style of the 1970s
The rock music scene of the 1970s was characterized by an interesting variety of styles and continuous musical renewal. At one end of the musical spectrum, bands like Led Zeppelin and The Who paved the way for a completely new kind of loud and rhythm-focused rock – not only was the jazz-era ideal of the drum hero revived, but at the same time a new, never-before-heard sound of large and extremely distorted drums due to band saturation was introduced as a sought-after sonic stylistic device. At the other end of the stylistic spectrum, bands like The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac experimented with much cleaner and near-perfect recording productions and were also very successful with this style. In the new Seventies Rock EZX, the characteristic drums of both extremes of this era are united – from epically large, massively spacious sounds to very controlled, dampened, and deeply tuned drums of the classics.
The recording sessions for this EZX library took place at Columbia Studio A in Nashville, one of the most famous recording rooms in the world. Today, this legendary, now restored studio serves as a kind of museum for the treasures of 1970s recording technology and as a training academy for students of Belmont University. The EZX library offers three complete and very different drum sets: a unique replica of the legendary 1970s Slingerland drum set of Buddy Rich with its bombastic sound, as well as two different models of a mid-70s Camco drum set – one with regular heads, the other dampened with towels.
With these drums and the innovative functionality of EZdrummer 2 for intuitive and creative songwriting, you get a unique sonic palette of sounds for the authentic production of your rock songs in the style of the 1970s.
